Ruth Gawthorpe is proud to be CEO for The Smart Working Revolution and The Change Directors. She holds a post graduate CIPD qualification and for many years worked as an HR Director for large corporates, including Bass Brewers, SITEL, HCL and Domestic and General before setting up her own business to help Leaders transform their organisations through People.

In 2013, Ruth suffered a disability, following a back operation which consigned her to a wheelchair for a year and left her with irreparable damage to her right leg. It was a shock to the system and a bit of epiphany, as Ruth recognised that there are millions of the workforce who cannot do the commute for one reason or another.

For years, she had been implementing flexible working into corporates and the injury prompted Ruth to start a new business called the Smart Working Revolution, in a bid to encourage more Business Leaders to offer the workforce and candidates smarter ways of working
